and I can understand why some people were annoyed with the political leaning in the book, but I liked the fact that they took a prominent character and had her deal with a severe issue (Cheryl Blossom's cancer). I hope there will be a book 5 in the works!

Disappointing. Archie, Archie Andrews: Where Are You???

Archie: The Married Life series follows Archie Andrews, America's favorite comic teen, as he learns to become an adult in two alternate worlds. In one, he has married Veronica and struggled to be the son-in-law that Hiram Lodge wants. In the other, he has found happiness with Betty and teaching. As the two parallel universes continue to diverge, their paths take eerily similar courses that are fraught with angst, upheaval and controversy. Marital bliss, secure jobs, reliable friends, life itself: they're all threatened in this newest installment, which collects issues 19-24 of the magazine.

As a lifelong fan, it's hard for me to admit that I'm disappointed with this book. Unfortunately, it's the truth. What began as an interesting concept has deteriorated into a political and social machine, obviously used by the author and publisher to support their personal views on hot topics. I never want my review to deteriorate into a political or moral rant. I'm interested more in the quality of the books I read and the value they impart to my life. This book, however, has met none of those qualifications. I want to read a story about Riverdale's inhabitants that doesn't ignore the problems of adulthood but also doesn't blatantly support controversial issues that truly do not belong in books that are seen as children's / young adult literature. I almost wish I had spent my time reading the old 1960s Archie comics that I've read a hundred times before instead of reading this book.

I am so amazed every time I read books by my fave authors and this anthology is no different.
Most of the authors in this collection I've read and loved, including Ceci Giltenan, Sue-Ellen Welfonder, Suzan Tisdale, Lily Baldwin, Tarah Scott. New authors for me Kate Robbins and Kathryn Lynn-Davis.
This is a great read from beginning to the end. I laughed, I cried, I got mad and I got so sad, tears welled up in my eyes, but what they have in common beside the happy endings is the heroes and heroines, despite the hardships and the obstacles thrown their way, are good souls, honorable and brave warriors that protect their loved ones.
Looking forward to Volume 2.
I fully recommend you pick this up for hours of enjoyment, also because the authors are donating a portion of the royalties from the sale of all e-books to the Cancer Research Institute.

Great Study Bible

I have a couple of Study Bibles, and although the NKJV is not my favorite translation, I truly enjoy this Bible. Just starting with the New Testament in Matthew, you can read the prophecy that was fulfilled by the first coming of Christ. Did you know how many prophecies there are about Christ, there are hundreds, including the birth place, the family lineage, the virgin birth, the amount of money he was to be betrayed for, etc. These were all written hundreds (seven hundred from Micah) of years before his birth.

This is how we know the coming prophecies are true, because the previous ones have already been proven out with the Birth, death and resurrection of Christ. So what about the second coming? Some of these have already come to pass, Duet 30:5 Israel returns to its land (also Amos 9:14). Most of them will happen at some future date that only god knows about (Matt 24:36)

If you have an interest in Prophecy, then this Bible is a great tool.

A Bible with VERY good study aids

This is a regular KJV of the Bible with lots of maps, editorals, and study aids thrown in. The extras here are a very nice help in understanding the subject of the seperate books. Please ignore the review from "Honestly, I didn't like it, December 12, 2000 Reviewer: A reader from Texas". Maybe the editorials in this book could have gone into more detail but if I want more info I'll get a book on that alone.
I have friends that don't believe there is a God. I plan on giving them a copy of this study Bible with little articles and editorals on the "sign of the times". I think this is a great Bible to give to new believers or disbelievers considering the recent happenings.

Pleasantly suprised

A bit of a surprise. At first glance, going by the cover, this book gave every indicator it was going to be a bit of a waste. The cover, a pretty girl with an `oooh, ouch oh God yeeah!' look on her face, looking square into the lens and looking way too much like it was staged.

However, reading the book and looking at the photos and it is very different to first impressions. The text speaks about real spanking situations and people's experience with them and the photos rather than being all fairy floss and glamour are pretty obviously quite real.

I still hardly know my feelings about the subject, I'm not scared of it, I don't go out of my way to partake in it. However, for what it's worth I reckon this book is much more `real' hence more enlightening and stimulating than it would have been if it had been all the `pretty little things' pretending to be in a spanking situation, hammed up glamour.

First impressions were "Oh dear, this looks like it'll be garbage". Later and lasting impressions were-"mmmm, that was a pleasant little detour!" It's not even really my genre but worth a lookie see for a sense of good clean stimulation and maybe even a better understanding what makes those who'd chew razor blades for a good spanking tick.
